To Get the New iPad or Not?

The new iPad was finally launched after the death of Apple’s beloved founder, Steve Jobs.  Many thought that things would be different after his death and that it might be the start of the downfall of Apple.  However, things are actually going well for the company.  With the launch of the new iPad, it just strengthened Apple’s hold and position in the market of mobile gadgets.

Even though Apple has launched the new iPad, they are still selling the brand new iPad 2 in the market.  Albeit, they are selling it at a much lower price compared to the latest version.  So what would make you sell your iPad 2 and upgrade or change to the new iPad?  Have the changes made that much of a difference to make it worth getting the much more expensive version?  Do the specs of the new iPad reign over the old one? These are just some of the questions that people are asking before going out and buying an iPad nowadays.

Those who are thinking of selling iPad 2 even if it’s just a few months old to get the new iPad should think hard before deciding to buy.  It is best to get the pros and cons of the new iPad versus the iPad 2.   The very first thing that you would notice with the new iPad, the moment you hold it is that it is heavier and thicker compared to the iPad 2.  The new iPad is at 1.44 lbs and 9.4 mm thick.  Although it is really not so much that you would have a hard time lugging it along.  The next big difference between the two is the display screen of the new iPad.  It now sports the much talked about Retina Display that has 2048 x 1536 pixels.  The resolution is now 4 times as much as the iPad 2.  This is a big leap, as you would really see the difference as the colors are more vivid and the pictures are crisp.

Of course, Apple is saying that this is not an upgrade but a new iPad that they are selling so there are a lot of other changes that they did with the gadget.  One major change is that they used a different and more powerful processor for the CPU of this tablet PC.  For the new iPad, you will now find a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5X with 1 GB of memory.  This will make the tablet respond much faster to commands and be able to multitask without any hitches.  The camera is also now a 5 megapixel with autofocus, which is a huge leap from the former 0.7 megapixel with fixed focus camera of the iPad 2.

It really still boils down to what you will be doing with the iPad.  If you will be using it for fun, then get the new iPad.  The new features that you can find in the new iPad, justify going to sell your iPad 2.  Even with the price difference between getting a new iPad 2 or going all out for the new iPad, the upgraded specs are worth it.
