Tablet PCs have been around for quite some time already but they only became popular when Apple released its own version called the iPad. The launch of this product started a whole new trend in computing. Who would not want to own one? It offered a lot more for the consumer. It allowed desktop mobility, which was only a dream for some before the iPad was made available. The iPad did not have any problems with gaining followers because it ran very much like Apple’s other product, the iPhone. Both devices run over the same platform that Apple developed, called the iOS.
The question of how to sell iPad was not hard to answer because people immediately saw the potential to help them out with work or studies or even entertainment. People easily bought into the idea that one should own an iPad. This of course meant that competition was not far behind. Seeing the success of the iPad in the market, other computer manufacturers raced to produce their own line of tablet PCs and the only concern was the operating system to use to actually power the whole thing up. The clamor for a more lenient and open source operating system for tablets was developed by Google to answer this need. Google already had the Android developed for the use of mobile phones so they just tweaked it some more to be able to use it for tablet PCs. The launch of the Honeycomb, which was Android’s first operating system made for tablet PCs and smart phones launched this Android-iOS war.
Of course, there are pros and cons for each system, as they were developed to address different needs and wants. Apple’s strength has always been its ease of use and the form factor of the product that they offer. Also, the legions of Apple’s loyal followers were most likely willing to snap up whatever product the company offered. You would not have any problems either with how to sell iPad.
Android tablets on the other hand were more attractive to developers and computer enthusiasts who wanted more control over their devices. Android, being an open source platform allowed this to happen. Also, manufacturers of tablets did not have a hard time using it in their products because there were no patents or exclusivity licensing issues to settle. Also, Android tablets were much more affordable compared to Apple’s products, which was a major factor in influencing people to buy a tablet PC.
At the end of the day, it all boils down to personal preferences. Some people prefer the iPad because they are familiar with the system with them owning an iPhone too. Meanwhile, others prefer the Android tablets because it is cheaper but can still deliver the things it has promised. If you want to switch sides, you can just ask around for where to sell iPad.
